Hey tweeps,
Time to pop the popcorn…
America’s Tweetheart is hosting a March Movie Madness Party!!!
And the best part is you don’t even have to leave your laptop/smart phone.
Unless you have been living under a rock without wifi, you probably know that the Hunger Games is Trending. And I mean seriously trending.
Which gave me the brilliant idea to make this week’s Pop Tweets all about the movies that have been trending this month:
The Hunger Games is Trending
#1 The Hunger Games is Trending (duh!) If you haven’t read the book, it’s the story of a teenage girl, living in a post-apocalyptic world, where every year a group of teenagers must compete in a televised battle for their lives. The movie, which is opens Friday, has been pretty much trending on & off on Twitter since the premiere last week. There was also another secret screening in NYC attended by the stars that leaked on Twitter. The Hunger Games is predicted to make $100+ million this weekend. (Maybe even rival Twilight Breaking Dawn part 1, which made $140 million) Don’t forget to watch the super-awesome-hilarious Pop Tweets Videoabove to hear what is being tweeted about the movie so far.
#2-21 Jump Street is trending. I have never seen the 80′s cop/high school drama that this movie was (I would guess loosely) based on. But anything with Johnny Depp in it, is good in my book. ;) Well now it’s been turned into a high school buddy comedy starring hottie Channing Tatum & fattie (or is it skinney now?) Jonah Hill. And is getting surprisely good reviews on Twitter & from critics alike.
#3-The Lorax is also trending. This one is based on a Dr. Seuss book from the 70′s. (Hey just noticed another trend here-Hollywood’s lack of original ideas) Anyway, the Lorax is about a group of adorable, cuddly (and kinda trippy looking) forest creatures. It supposed to send a positive message to kiddies about respecting our environment, saving trees & stuff like that. Awww cute, right?! Well leave it to Fox News to turn cute & cuddly into controversial. Apparently some people are taking the Lorax as an direct attack on right wing values, orchestrated by none other than President Obama…huh? For more on this, check out out the vid…its hilarious I promise.
Ok, it’s been fun kids!
xoxo,
